How to care for your inclusion Jewelry **Additional terms and CONDITIONS included**

Your precious inclusions are suspended within high quality jewelry grade resin, which cures into something like a hardened plastic. These pieces are fairly strong, and shatter resistant.

This being said, they still need to have special attention, and need to be taken care of carefully. Here are some things to remember about caring for your precious Inclusion jewelry pieces:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to UV light. While the resin and coating I use has built in UV resistant properties, too much exposure to UV light can discolor your piece. Avoid storing in direct sunlight, and avoid wearing if you are in a situation where it will be exposed to constant UV light. (If you work outside for example)

  • Avoid Prolonged exposure to moisture and water. While the resin and metal settings are water resistant, it is still recommended to avoid exposure to moisture or water. This can discolor, weaken, or ruin the integrity and finish of your piece, and can dull a metal setting. Remove your jewelry if you are bathing, showering, swimming, doing dishes, or if you are excessively sweating on a hot day.

  • Avoid wearing while working with chemicals. Any exposure to cleaning chemicals, pesticides, acids, lotions, perfumes, soaps, or other chemicals can be extremely harmful to your inclusion jewelry. Remove your jewelry if you are using chemicals of any kind.

  • Cleaning your Jewelry. To clean your inclusion pieces, wipe with a damp microfiber cloth. EVEN PRECIOUS METALS CAN TARNISH DUE TO ITS SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT AND/OR THE OWNERS PERSONAL SKIN CHEMISTRY. To clean and polish your dulled metal settings, use a special jewelers cloth. (Included with all rings that contain precious metals)

  • Avoid High Heat Exposure. The resin used in your inclusion jewelry has properties similar to that of a hardened plastic. Like most plastic, it can melt or weaken when exposed to high heat. Exposure to high temperatures and high humidity can weaken, and make your piece pliable. Avoid excessive high heat exposure, and high humidity exposure.

  • PLEASE READ FOR PLATED JEWELRY. If you are purchasing plated jewelry, be aware that the plating WILL wear off over time, and the speed in which depends on how much wear it is exposed to, unique environmental PH, the PH of your individual body's skin, how well it is taken care of amongst many other factors. Depending on unique factors, wear can show starting from days to months. If wear starts to show, you can take it to a local jeweler and have them "dip" or replate your item. This is NOT the fault of Precious Relics production, and we do not offer refunds for worn plating on pieces.

  • IF YOU WISH TO AVOID HAVING TO REPLATE YOUR PIECE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PURCHASING THE SOLID GOLD OPTIONS IF OFFERED.

  • PLEASE READ FOR WIRE WRAPPED PIECES. If you are purchasing a wire wrapped ring, pendant, earrings or anything else that may include hand woven wire wrapping, please be aware that it may unravel with rigorous wear. Precious Relics does not offer refunds or replacements of pieces that have unraveled due to rigorous wear. Should a piece become unraveled, Precious Relics can repair it for a fee,

  • PLEASE READ FOR METAL ALLOY JEWELRY. While most of my items no longer include metal alloys, a select few still do. These are all lead and nickel-free zinc alloys. I treat them with a tarnish resistant coating, however, special care needs to be given to avoid all moisture, UV and chemical exposure. Precious Relics is not responsible for tarnish that may happen to any jewelry, and no replacements or refunds will be given.

  • If your Piece becomes damaged: If your piece becomes damaged due to normal wear and tear, Precious Relics will not refund or replace your piece.

  • If your item becomes damaged by no fault of precious relic's production, no refunds or replacements will be given. You can take a damaged piece to your local jeweler, where they can make major repairs. Small repairs can be done my Precious Relics for a fee, to be quoted on a case by case basis.
